Guidelines on Tipping The Dealer
All APPL events are free to the public, however dealers work for tips as their only compensation for dealing with the All American Poker League, Inc.
Tipping is NOT mandatory, but tips are greatly appreciated by each dealer.
A Tip By Definition
A sum of money given to someone for performing a prompt, courteous and professional service as a gratuity.
Players have given us many reasons they tip their dealer such as the dealer started promptly, came to work prepared, was courteous, kept the game moving, had a professional demeanor, was friendly, was helpful, was patient, they had an enjoyable time and the list goes on.
Players generally tip at the beginning of each game just after the starting chips have been distributed. No cash of any denomination (this includes change) can remain on the table when the game begins.
If you desire to tip your dealer but only have large bills, asking the dealer for change is perfectly fine.
If you choose to tip your dealer, the denomination is your choice. Current tips range from $1 - $5 or more each game.
AAPL owners and dealers will treat EVERY player with the same respect and professionalism regardless if they tip, do not tip or the denomination of the tip given.
