Memorial for Andrea S.
There will be a memorial tribute to Andrea Switalski this coming Tuesday evening at Whiskey Creek in Port Charlotte. We invite ALL who have played with her (from any of the local leagues) to come join us in remembering such a dear person to all of us. Those who wish to attend should arrive by 5:30pm.

High Hand Photos

Due to the overwhelming number of high hands (straight flushes & quads) we decided to suspend all photos for the high hand club with the exception of Royal Flushes. We regret having to do this but it just is too time consuming to manage all the photos and  when we fall short it simply not good for the player who has been missed.

All Royal Flush photos, as well as future event photos will be posted on THIS WEBSITE, not on our Facebook page. Facebook in the future will simply be a short current events & news about us page.

To:  All AAPL players           2/22/12

We had a great quarterly turnout and tournament this past weekend.  I personally want to thank everyone for attending and trust they enjoyed themselves.

AAPL’s dealers’ instructor, Matt, did an outstanding job as did Marie and Sharon (a generally thankless, difficult and sometimes tenuous assignment) and as did so many others that have worked for days to make your quarterly a success.

“3 in 1 Night” -  March 10th, Saturday evening at Family Table Restaurant, North Port.  Black Jack Charity Tournament , 5 P.M. Registration, $20 Buy-in, $5 dealer add on; Sit and Go’s and Texas Hold’em

I have had 31 requests on how one would become a “Soaring Eagle”.  If it were that a player just attends and supports a venue, 95% would be in.  It is those little things over time that make one stand out.  This circle has been created because I continuously try to make our league the best.  Everyone should understand that they may feel that they should belong but that would obviously defuse the entire purpose of the “Soaring Eagles”.  I will be happy to answer your requests or questions.

I want to welcome Paul DeSario as one of our new dealers.  Please make him feel comfortable.  He is a great guy and he will begin in the greater Venice area.  We had 22 players there last night.  I will be increasing the venues as we move into Sarasota.

Remember $2000 is our next quarterly May 4th and 5th; $1000 first place.

Double point:
• Banditos – Mondays & Wednesdays
• Family Table – Fridays & Saturdays
• End Zone - Saturday
• Every day in Venice.
• As a special thank you to those that support any two (2) venues in one day, you will receive five (5) bounty points.  There will be no triple or any other specials; that’s it!

If you would like to tell others about us, please go to Facebook:like.  Also visit our website frequently as to HOT SPOTS and other information.

“PokerHomeParties.com” – AAPL will provide for a home party, religious, civic or any event, one or more complete poker set ups.  Table, chairs, dealer, everything needed.  Please contact our website for further information.

I have instructed Bill Wright, our Sr. IT Tech, to create a program whereby all players will be able to sign up on line.  Players can pick their table and seat assignment.  First come; first served.  The site will open on Tuesday, May 1st  at 10 A.M. and final registration will close on Thursday, May 3rd at 12 Noon.  This is just an FYI for now.  I will provide you complete details as time approaches.  For those without computers, our dealers will assist players with registration.  This will totally eliminate any delays.

Anyone having knowledge of new venues, please contact me.

Our congratulations to our final table players.  An interesting thought – Jim Dennis, our first place winner, and his wife Noi, didn’t have by any means a “monster stack”.  They weren’t able to participate in the triple point period and they only played in two (2) and sometimes three (3) venues.  Jim was a model player of how to play the game and somewhat fortunate in getting the cards.  Not everyone can play two (2) venues every day.  Some want the edge on having extra chips.  It is an individual’s choice to participate when and how much they wish to.  There is no rhyme or reason with this game.  It is playing ability, luck and is it your turn…
